Birthday Wishes & Bullet Dodging
You may remember that I frequently visit a “Neighborhood Wal-Mart” store in the hood that is fairly close to our house. A little too close perhaps.
My husband has a rule that we’re not allowed there after dark. Sometimes I break that rule. Not any more.
This past week I read in the paper where two men robbed the store and fired their guns off inside! Thankfully no one was hurt but the men are still at large. This all happened around 11:30 p.m. I’ve been there at 11:30 p.m. (against my husband’s wishes).
So in honor of my 30th birthday next week (one I’d like to live to see) I’m now asking for a bullet-proof vest.
Seems like the perfect gift to me. Practical in so many ways. You think they come in kid sizes?
My name is Emily. I’m 30 years old. I have often been told that I ask a lot of questions, but I think I have more to say than ask.

You must be a Virgo….maybe a Leo. I’m a Leo, MY 30th birthday was the 12th. Fun. Capped the whole thing off by finding a big fat gray hair right on the TOP of my head. Being 30 sucks….I’m gonna go cry now.
Plus side, I had an AMAZING chocolate cake that my Mommy got for me….sniff sniff….she also bought me some new knitting needles…sniff sniff sniff. Boo-hoo.
I have banned myself from Wally world, for just such things. and Happy Birthday.
Instead of a bullet-proof vest, why not stop going to Wal-Mart? They are evil and the gunmen probably purchased their guns and bullets there.
Just my two (anti-Wal-Mart) cents.
Happy B-day!
I am indeed a Virgo. August 24th. So one more week til I drop tears in my drink as I raise my glass to the big 3-0.
Leeanthro ~ Like em’ or leave em’ Wal-Mart is close, cheap and easy to find what I need. This particular store is a mini one. Just groceries and Rx. So no bullets or sporting good section. And since it’s very near the projects I presume they bought their “piece” on the street! (Or maybe the parking lot!!)
We only go to WM if its before 10am. Afterr that, all the riff-raff is there and that can lead to trouble. As for WM being evil, I agree. The provide jobs and cheap stuff. Nobody’s forcing people to shop there or work there.
When they catch those miscreants, send them my way. Perhaps I can teach them a few lessons. As for going to Wal-Mart period, you may want to be tested for lead poisoning with so many of their products being manufactured in China.
crazy folks there at walmart.
daddy knows best.
Happy Birthday
Going by the records which detail shootings in schools, post office… well I bet the chances of being shot is HIGHER in school than in Wal Mart, so a bullet-proof vest is certainly helpful.
Btw I don’t anti Wal-Mart at all. No body forces people to shop there.
Gheesh and I thought our WalMart was bad!
Happy bullet-less birthday!
There was a gunfight between a few people in a grocery store very close to where I live… in the middle of the day!
Needless to say, I don’t go there anymore.
Can you get those at Wal*Mart?
