We’re About To Be Broke!
Not because we’re on vacation and there is an outlet mall within 30 miles that I will hit hard this week.
Our little man has lost his first tooth! Isn’t it too early? He just turned 5 at the end of July.

We were out to dinner tonight with my family (on vacation) and Ethan was eating corn on the cob. My cousin, Laban, noticed a little blood on the corn and when we looked his tooth was gone! Thankfully we found it on his lap and it is now safely under his pillow as I type.
My big question is what is the going rate for teeth these days? I’m thinking this first one should be several dollars, then maybe $1 a tooth after that.
5 bucks the first tooth 1 buck each additional tooth, taxes and other fees may apply
Dang, he is cute.
i love it. and you two are gorgeous. i’d go all out - we only live once.
(give him extra and tell him he has to share it, the tooth fairy says give it to someone who needs it sort of thing and then every time he loses a tooth he can get philanthropic about it) just my .02
Mmm, better make sure he knows that this first tooth is special or he might expect that much with all the other teeth! I was reading about this on someone else’s blog recently… people had all sorts of creative ideas, like giving gold dollar coins or something else unique.
Look at those big smiles! Gorgeous! I really like the idea of two dollars - one to do with as he please and one to give to charity.
I got a dollar and pack of Trident, but that was the late 70’s/early 80’s.

I gave $5.00 for the first tooth, and then after that, gold dollar coins. Nathan believed it was “fairy money”, isn’t that cute? Speaking of cute, look at the two of you! You have gorgeous eyes, by the way
He looks so proud… and a bit anxious.
We always did 5 then 1 from then on
Well we went with $5 for this first one and then I think it will be $1 and/or maybe a special prize or treat for the rest.
He does look a bit frightened in this pic! He was a littler nervous after seeing blood on the corn cob & I was making such a big deal about him losing his first tooth
There was a table of all older women eating behind us and when they heard us carrying on about Ethan’s tooth they gave him $6 dollars!! Can you believe that?? Lucky kid!!!
Jen’s idea is cool! The kids in my class usually get about $5/tooth, but whatever is the standard around there is a good idea I think.
Good choice..$5.00 then the dollar…your picture is precious..he is one proud son… glad to see your having fun…

When I taught first grade, the “going rate” for lost teeth was a new DVD! I was shocked, because when I was a kid it was more like a quarter. I guess the tooth fairy has really upgraded over the years…
My eldest who is 7.5 alreayd, has still to lose a tooth lol He is convinced it will never happen!
