How Much Are Your Feet Worth?
Today my feet are worth $240. I wrote a check for my portion of the deductible at physical therapy today for $140. They sent me home with new orthotics (insoles custom made to fit my feet and support my arch) and a heavy brown paper bag that contained these.

I will admit to you that I wear a size 11 shoe. You know what they say about women with big feet don’t you? They can never find shoes!
What is funny is that the therapy guy who made these molds of my feet a few weeks ago, told me he had to find a larger sack for them to fit in. As if I didn’t know my feet were big, he had to reaffirm that knowledge. In front of other people of course!
It was kind of interesting seeing the differences between my two feet. See how my second toe is longer than my big toe? My grandma always told me that means you are smart. She said this before I failed college algebra 9 times. You can also see that my right ankle is obviously the bad one. See how the ankle area bulges out. That is how it is normally with no swelling.
I wasn’t even sure why they were sending those molds home with me, but I have a pretty good idea of what to do with them. I’m thinking Ethan might want to paint and decorate them, and then we can make bookends with them. What do you think?
I had orthotics once… and then I tried to get new ones and he messed up and now I can’t even wear the old ones.
I have a pretty expensive foot too, for a bunion surgery when I was 14. But I be mine aren’t as expensive as yours. Good luck!
Just curious, but how tall are you? Well, my 14 year old wears a size 9 already, my 11 year old is about a 7 1/2. While these aren’t crazy large, they are pretty big for the sizes of their bodies and age.
They come by it naturally though. My mother wears a 9 and my mother in law wears a 10-10 1/2. There is nothing wrong with big feet and as we age, they change anyway. Mine have gotten wider (not fat either..haha), just wider after birthing 5 kids.
I hope you are doing well! I also sent you an email yesterday…take a look!
Laura ~ I am about 5 ft. 10 inches. And I think before I had Ethan I wore a size 10, but like you my feet got wider after birth.
You and Andi could trade shoes. 9 times must be some kind of record for failing algebra. What determination you had.
or after he paints them use them as table centerpieces?
Size 11, Wow…that’s impressive. I’ve got a friend who’s 6 feet tall and has a ridiculous time finding jeans, shoes, anything made for her over sized self. You should treat yourself to a real pair of Blohniks or something. You deserve it. Happy painting.
When I was a little girl the man at the shoe store told my mom that if my feet got any bigger they would have to use the shoe boxes.
She never shopped there again.
I thought it was funny, until after I had my kids and I started wearing an 11.
That is great!! I broke my ankle a couple of years ago and had to be wired, pinned and plated back together. My right ankle buldges just like that, too. Funny how I never wanted to wear high healed shoes until I ended up with a crazy fat ankle.
I think the foot casts as bookends idea is great! Paint them, mount them on nice looking boards… what are you going to do with them otherwise?! Stick them on a closet shelf somewhere.
I can’t believe how sometimes people just don’t think. I’ll bet it would be a great project to paint and decorate them. And I would place them on a bookshelf they’ll be great. Something you and your son could do together.
Have fun, make it creative. Take a few times to finish the project. Although maybe the doctor needs you to keep the molds in case he has to recast.
If not have fun..

Yeah, the first thing I noticed about your cement shoes (sleep with the fishes? LOL.) there was that your second toes are longer than your great toes.
