How To Cut Costs When Buying A New Car
We got over 6 inches of rain yesterday and it’s still raining. School was even canceled today and is on a 2 hour delay for tomorrow as of right now. The weather has been unbelievable around here this winter. One day it’s 60 and sunny, and the next day is freezing rain.
As I was driving home today I was stopped behind a vehicle at a stoplight and saw that the driver was holding something out his window. I couldn’t really tell what he was doing, but then the light turned green and as he drove through the intersection it was clear.
He was driving and hanging half out the window cleaning, the rain off his windshield with a squeegee like this. I am assuming his windshield wipers were not working and he could not see where he was going, because why else would someone do this? (Which makes me glad I was behind him and not in front of him.)

The New 2008 Windshield Wipers - Manual Labor Required
Can you imagine driving and trying to clean your windows like this when it is pouring down outside? He had to be soaked. Not only that but it looked absolutely ridiculous. It is moments like this that I wish I had a camera to document the craziness I often seem to observe. Maybe I will start carrying one in my car.
This reminds of the time my brother was driving while scraping ice off the windshield with a scraper because his defroster had broken. Needless to say he was in an accident but thankfully no one was hurt. If the windshield won’t clear, I suppose it’s wisest to stay home.
I tend to tie shoe laces on them, run them through the windows and work the wipers manually that way. At least I don’t get wet or get decapitated by a truck.
Yes, yes, PHOTOS! I demand them!
You’d have had fun in some of the common vehicles of my younger years. Many had only a small hand-operated wiper on the upper part of the driver’s windscreen. It wouldn’t have been so awkward if it hadn’t required 3 arms and legs to drive the things without the need for a wiper. Oh well, at least the horses back then knew enough to avoid our farm trucks:)
that is pretty funny! I was the woman throwing water bottles of water on my windshield at stoplights the other day. My dh had been driving my van and used all my wiper fluid. (I did stop when I got to a service station and get some wiper fluid:) And it was spring melt mess all over the roads. I am sure I must have looked just as cool as that guy.
Emily, I emailed you the review for the dvd - did you get it? I might not have your new email. Let me know. I sent it on the 18th.
Yikes, that’s scary!
that’s when you pull over and call someone else to come and pick you up! what an idiot!
happy easter, btw!
That is disgusting. Whoever the driver….they were putting everyone at risk.. Its crazy the way people use such poor judgment when they are driving a car.
Glad your alright…
Happy Easter..
