First Impressions
Today we did a lot of outside work at our new house. Since the weather was nice, most of the families on our street were doing the same things in their own yards. It was the first opportunity we’ve had to meet a lot of our new neighbors.
First impressions mean everything. To my own defense it was my first time on a riding lawnmower. Picture me mowing in our front yard, waving at the next door neighbor and then immediately running into a tree.
If anything they got a first impression of the true me.

My name is Emily. I’m 30 years old. I have often been told that I ask a lot of questions, but I think I have more to say than ask.

Well Emily,
I hope you are okay?! If you didn’t get hurt, then all I can do is laugh. Nothing like showing that inner klutz to all your new neighbors huh? LOL
Did you at least get the grass cut?
lovely.
just lovely.
I so love you
Oh did I cut the grass. I did a super job. I mowed in the wrong direction and blew the clippings all in our landscaping. Probably my first & last time on the mower.
Oh, I wish I had a video. As it is, I’m sitting here laughing at the mental image in my mind. Happy mother’s day.
I love this…SO something that would happen to me.
Heh. Whoops!
Don’t give up on the lawn mowing. It’s a great way to take a break from, well, everything. Put some noise reducing headphones on (preferably ones with a built-in radio), turn up the tunes, put the pedal to the metal and GO!
PS: I have also run into a couple of trees. Not with an audience, but we have a lot of trees in our yard, so several have had minor impacts…
